Figma Kagamine Rin & Len – Vocaloid Overload

For those of you guys who still remember my birthday post, you would know where these 2 came from.

Been sitting on them (not literally) for a month or so now mainly due to the fact my exams came after my birthday and I would prefer to concentrate on matters more important than doing figurine reviews.

So lets get started on this long overdue review.

So first up we have Kagamine Rin.

She doesn’t have many accessories as compared to alot of other figmas but then simplicity can be a good thing sometimes ^^.

So here she is fresh out of the box.

The colour of her clothes comes off as more of a greyish colour rather than black which is a little odd considering that alot of the renditions of the vocaloids are in black. In fact Ren is in black as well which makes you wonder why.

The material they used has a very shiny look and has a rubbery consistency, most notably the back flap of the uniform and the frontal ribbon. The back flap also does a very good job of hiding the figma hole. Since it is rubbery, it folds over easily for the insertion of the stand.

Now you see the figma hole!

Here, the grayish colour of Rin’s costume is more obvious than the previous pics.

Rin and Len are fairly stable and are able to stand on their own power quite well.

So far, all the figmas I have bought are characters that wear skirts (not to mention they are all girls. What’s up with that? Len changes that though ^^) so having to see the hip joints out in the open for once is something new.

Fortunately, the dark colour of the shorts makes it not as obvious as Kagamiku’s waist joint.

Abit on the blocky side perhaps…

Number 02 ^^

If I am to have a gripe, it would be that the eyes seem kinda blank as compared to Hatsune Miku’s or any other figma I have for that matter. I guess if you don’t stare that hard it shouldn’t be a problem.

Moving on to Len………

Accessory-wise, Len comes with his keyboard-guitar or guitar-keyboard or whatever you call it.

Certainly an awesome prop and he comes with a strap and a special hand to hold the neck of the whatever that keyboard thingy is.

Not to mention it makes for a good prop if I ever want to do a spoof of K-ON ^^

Idiot-proof instructions

So here he is out of the box.

As mentioned, his costume bears a slight colour difference from Rin’s, it being darker and closer to black if it isn’t black.

He bears many similiarities to Rin such as the shiny appearance and the rubber like material that make up his tie and shorts.

He also has the rubber flap that covers his figma hole (oh crap I just love typing out this word for some reason. figma hole, figma hole, figma…. erhmm….)

It’s the figma hole again! XD

If you notice in the above pic, Len doesn’t have a waist joint but rather a torso joint that is well covered by the rubbery material that is his shirt. Didn’t notice it until I bent it by accident.

Len’s pants are similar to Rin’s except that it is a hell lot larger and is actually hard plastic covered by the rubbery material I have mentioned so many times by now.
