Figma Takara Miyuki and the Lucky Star Gang

And she’s here! The innocent, walking tower of moe that is Takara Miyuki from Lucky Star!

With this, my Lucky Star Figma collection is complete!!! At least until they decide to release the rest of the Lucky Star cast as well. Then I’ll cry for joy while my wallet just cries.

As you can see very clearly from the first pictures, Miyuki comes with Lucky Star OP back drop. Not a bad marketing strategy. While it is kinda sad, out of the main four, Miyuki gets the least love (and Kagami and Konata the most ^^). That much is obvious from posters, fanart and doujins. I think they did the same thing with the Suzumiya Haruhi set though i can’t quite remember who came with the backdrop.

I need to figure out how that white mount works…

A nice backdrop to add the the other 4 that came with the figurines.

Also, I’m sure you know by now that the sides of the boxes for the Figmas actually form a full picture. And after many months of waiting, here it is.

If you are wondering why there’s an extra Kagami box, you need to read this. Incidentally, that’s Kagami 1 right there reading her magazine. You can’t tell she’s broken can you? XD

She’s not fixed yet though. Blutack does amazing things.

Before we go on, if you haven’t seen my reviews for the rest of the Lucky Star gang, you might want to click on the links below.

Konata
Kagami and Tsukasa

Let’s get on with the review. As you can see in the pic above, that’s Miyuki fresh from the box. It could be just me but I felt she was very well made as compared to the rest of the gang, most particularly Konata who suffers from hair-drop syndrome. It seems the manufacturers are really improving on the quality. This time, Miyuki even came with an extra plastic mould to protect her hair. I’ve never seen something like this in any of my previous Figmas, only plastic wrappings.

Since Miyuki also has rather long/large hair, the stand port doesn’t go into her backbut rather into her hair like Konata. However, unlike Konata’s additional hair piece, Miyuki’s fits very well and doesn’t drop off with a push of a finger. On another note, I don’t really like the port to be attached to the head since it makes adjustments troublesome.

Miyuki’s glasses are attached to her hair. Since she doesn’t come with another hair piece, I can’t do a 4koma of Miyuki without her glasses. Oh well. =P

Also, Miyuki is the most well-endowed of the gang. Just look at them, very obvious difference indeed. Even though Konata prides herself as a rare commodity, she (and probably everyone else ^^) can’t help but be envious. Or discouraged XD.

Big… O_O

orz ^^

Let’s see a few shots of Miyuki then.

Miyuki comes with a book too. Definitely not yaoi doujinshi though XD

And now that the gang is complete, how can this post not have pictures of them together?

And here are a few scenes modeled after the OP sequence using the backdrop.

Had to use blutack for this one. How else can they stand on one leg?

This one should be easy to recognise. One of my favorite shots.

Now all that’s left is to complete my Nanoha StrikerS Figma set. Hayate will be coming soon in Jan ^^.

I hope you guys liked my photoshopped versions of Fate and Nanoha thus far. I’m set on doing more of them as well as churning out that 4koma I mentioned.

As a side note, I’m starting to run out of space for my boxes…
