Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention 2009 (STGCC 09) is a an event scheduled over 3 days from 14 – 16 August 2009 at the Suntec International Exhibition & Convention Centre (Hall 401 & 402), the convention presents an eye-popping visual feast and unprecedented variety and innovation in all the closely-related industries. Bringing flavors from both the east and the west, the convention aims to bring lots of fun to the event, which of course, involves our ever beloved anime merchandise goodies and also cosplayers galore. This is our overall coverage of the event itself only, upcoming posts features cosplayers and interesting stuff, so stay tuned.

As we were unable to go on friday, there is no post on that for that day (honestly, i don’t know if there was anything interesting on friday). The crowd started to pick up in the afternoon and we have difficulties walking the pathways and even taking photos due to the swarm of people.

To be honest, the event hall is pretty packed, while it is understandable that with a big hall, the whole event might look kinda empty but on the hall beside it was a shoe and apparel sale and some bridal gown exhibition. Along with that, there is a travel fair under construction below and on the 6th floor, there is a event by SMU.

Singpost…delivering ur otaku needs? :P
There were some highlights and interesting booths in STGCC 09. Gaming-wise, we get to see Nintendo dominating the whole show, showcasing its wide variety of games for the handheld DS and the Wii platforms. I didn’t see any Playstation 3 or Xbox360 related games booth. I might have missed it you – please let me know if I am wrong.
