As we embrace the warmth of Spring 2010, lets us not forget a pretty awesome lineup of anime that is set to launch in the coming days. Unlike Winter 2010, this wont be in full detail but rather a quick breakdown of the anime that caught my attention for the spring season though^^
Angel Beats
Studio: Aniplex, Visual Arts / Key
Release Date: April 2
Summary: A story about angels that fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen (SSS), rebels against the god who sets her to have an unreasonable life. On the otherhand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS member
Jun Maeda is spearheading a lot of positions in this series. From story to song composition. He is the one who was responsible with the music in Clannad, Kanon and many leading Key titles. With that, I am sure that is a certain standard set. I believe quite a considerable amount of people are actually looking forward to this anime and yes..pink hair ftw (points at picture above).
K-ON!!
Studio: Kyoto Animation
Release Date: April 6
Summary: It all began with Hirasawa Yui’s entry into the light music club at her year of school. Being in the club with her friends Akiyama Mio, Tainaka Ritsu, Kotobuki Tsumugi and Nakano Azusa was full of fun and they aimed to perform to a bigger audience. So who how will Season 2 of this anime be like for them?

The return of moe blob is definitely welcoming to many people! With “K-ON joining the army (Sora no Woto)” and is now back to school! (laughs). Alright, I am sure K-ON needs no introduction, definitely another anime to look forward to eh
Senkou no Night Raid
Studio: A-1 Pictures
Release Date: April 6
Summary: This is the 2nd of TV Tokyo’s “Anime no Chikara” project, with the first being “So-ra-no-wo-to” which ended not long ago. The story is set in 1931 in Shanghai. Imperial Japanese forces have been dispatched to China due to recent wars and a mysterious spy organisation exists in the city.
Spies, action, wars..hmmm. A different contrast against So-ra-no-wo-to, definitely interesting things here. Just no fanciful stuff please.

Release Date: April 4
Summary: A story set in a family restaurant located in Hokkaido. Sota works in this restaurant where there is a school girl who’s a year older but easily mistaken for a middle school student and Shirafuji Kyoko the 28-year old store manager who doesn’t bother to work.
Sounds like some “lol” anime with a lil slice-of-life. Another anime by A-1 pictures and it is looking quite good here. The trailer is enough to make u lol ^^
The FACEPALM anime

Studio: HAL Film Maker
Release Date: April 2
Summary: Yamada, a school girl and a virgin. She has an aspiration. To have 100 casual sex partners. Despite this, she finds her targeting just 1 boy
The initial description did make me..facepalm but then, when I saw the latter description of “targeting 1 boy” I came to think that it might be a cheesy love story with humor on the wrong side. You might be surprised that Tamura Yukari is voicing Yamada and other familar seiyuu names in the anime cast too – Horie Yui, Mamiko Noto, Hanazawa Kana, etc.
So will this anime make up the ranks? hmmm I wonder.
Having said all that, what is the anime that you are looking forward to ?
The man who started The Banzai! Effect and Anime Banzai! (discontinued), took an avid interest in blogging and also photography. Integrating his interests with the likes of Japanese pop culture, he starts out his path on the blogging world 
The anime’s that I look forward to:
- Romance of Three Kingdoms – for a history fan like me (and someone who doesn’t know the Romance story), I look forward to this
- Heroman – BONES makes it and the animation looks good. Who knows, maybe it ends up being better then the story makes it look like
- Angel Beats – I don’t know… something about this makes me believe that this will be a good show…
- Senkou no Night Raid – an original anime that looks good. Will watch!
